to measure equivalent width, bracket the feature with the green vertical lines - now slide the blue vertical line reference next to each green line and note the measurement in the readout box at the down and right corner of the applet.

To change the range that is plotted on the X-axis replace the nomimal values of 3500 and 6700 with what you want and then click the enter button.
